Marti Gold is Associate Creative Director at Travelocity with extensive experience in print and web design. Marti’s portfolio includes designs for magazine covers, restaurant menus, print collateral, print advertising, web sites, and much more. Fun fact: Marti built some of the web design elements for the Phillip K. Dick website, who is the science fiction author best known for “Minority Report.”
Topic:
No one has really figured out how to make online advertising as effective as traditional media advertising. Television, radio, and print are all “lean back” experiences, as the content as just delivered to the “viewer” (not the “user”). Online advertising is always a “lean forward” experience, usually with “users” on a specific task to achieve a certain goal. What lessons, if any, can be learned from traditional advertising? How can UX design co-exist with advertising? Learn about these subjects and much more in Marti’s presentation.
